2008年全美「學術十項全能」（Academic Decathlon）大賽3日在橙縣園林市舉行頒獎典禮，最後由加州地主隊莫爾帕克高中（Moorpark High School）以5萬3119的高分，獲得全美冠軍，同時也破大賽紀錄。范度拉縣的莫爾帕克高中共有15名學生參加訓練，九名入選決賽。其中一名是12年級華裔學生陳冠伶（Angela Chen）以GPA高分進入榮譽組（Honor），在比賽中賦予重任。詳見全文 |

四川地震 第二波捐款活動！五月十二日，大陸四川省汶川縣發生規模八點零的地震，威力相當於三百六十二顆原子彈。災難不但毀了許多人的住家，也令他們失去親人。他們，需要救援！星期六（5/31/2008）千橡中文學校上午，有專人負責捐款事宜。2323 Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks（Tel: 818-636-6107）。您可以把捐款寄給任何一個地震救援組織，您也可以把捐款交給康谷中華文化協會（CCCA），或寄P.O. Box 6775, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362，由CCCA匯總後直接轉交中國成都市紅十字會及慈濟救難組織。05/17/2008在千橡中文學校上午募款三萬餘美金，已全數捐出。本週六是我們在千橡中文學校募款的最後一次衝刺，如您捐款未特別指明對象，將全用來購買帳棚（目標至少一百頂），並立即空運四川。支票抬頭請寫 CCCA（註明China Earthquake Relief）。All contributions are tax deductible #77-0431997。The huge earthquake on 5/12 and many still big after-shocks have devastated China, killed and injured hundreds of thousands more, and made hundreds of thousands homeless.
